SECOND HALF DOUBLE SEES RAIL GO DOWN IN FINAL FRIENDLY
A disappointing end to Railway’s hitherto encouraging pre-season programme. Glapwell stood in for Frickley who had to cry off and gave Rail a stern test in their last friendly before the start of the new season.
Glapwell just edged a close first half and went in 1-0 up. Rail came back after the break and looked good after Craig Smith supplied Ben JONES with a fine through ball and he scored with the perfect header.
Things began to fall apart after that and, despite several good chances, Rail were slow to react to a quick free kick and went 2-1 down. Then a somewhat harsh decision resulted in Steve Robinson getting a straight red card before Glapwell rounded off their win with a nicely taken third.
