Harrogate Railway 2 AFC Fylde 1
Two goals from a gutsy first half display proved to be enough to give Railway the three points against newcomers AFC Fylde. Luke RICHARDSON broke through to put Rail in the lead with a low effort which crept in off the far post on 29 minutes and Ben JONES made it two with a spectacular volley on the turn two minutes before the break. ‘Keeper James Mann had to be on his guard on a couple of occasions but Rail looked in control.
However, a debatable penalty put the visitors back in with a shout after Steve Robinson was adjudged to have brought Paul Fildes down from behind. He received a yellow for his troubles and Joe BOOTH converted from twelve yards.
Both sides missed chances as the second half progressed and, although Railway deserved the win, they were relieved to hear the final whistle.
